HISTORY MUSEUM - on war and peace
WAR AND PEACE are the recurring themes of the Dinkelsbühl History Museum. Since autumn 2008 the Museum is to be found in the Old Town Hall, the place where the destiny of the town was decided on for over 300 years. The History Museum vividly tells the story of bygone days, of the rise of the town, the inner turmoil and its decline as well as the re-discovery of Dinkelsbühl through artists and painters in the late 19th century.
A modern presentation with 600 exhibits is aimed at all age groups, but children in particular, for whom there is a special trail through the exhibition, a children's room, media stations and appropriate teaching facilities.
The town has close links with children's author Christoph von Schmid, amongst others author of the Christmas Carroll, 'Ihr Kinderlein kommet' (Oh Come Little Children) and attention will be focused on von Schmid, especially during the Advent and Christmas season.
The museum offers audio-guides in English!
